week11 11/11

First of all, I want to talk about my plan for the next two weeks: I want to finish as many of the models that need to be presented in the final as possible and my thesis have to writing more. All improve with the animatic。

The second thing is that I need a deep summary and reflection. this part more important for myself. Its hard to describe it, but I have this feeling that something in my film is just a little bit off. I think I will make more plans this week.

  1. I changed some shots. Will it look better?

  2. Also, I change the rhythm a bit. How does it feel? I want to discuss details. I hope the second half has more emotional impact.

  3. About color unification. Should I think about the overall color like in a regular film? Or unify colors in just one part of the scene? I don’t have a clear idea yet.

  4. Actually, I already feel that the viewing experience is out of my control. I'm not mean the visual things. I mean the theme the audience thinks about after watching. This is a skill problem that I can't change in a short time, so I want to follow it,then control it as best as I can.

I want to know, if you watch the short film, what would you appreciate, and what’s bad? What would you think is its meaning or theme at first glance?

  5. I also have some reflections. In fact, my biggest issue is that my mind very confused right now. If this is not assignment, just judging myself, I would give my current result a C+. If I finish it all like this, it would be a B-. My minimum standard for myself is an A-. I only have a rough idea about how to achieve this goal.

About the confusion, there are many areas. Color, scene setting, shot transitions, and smoothness are what I care about. even more, what would you think of that I haven’t realized yet? I don’t have a clear idea of how to solve them. Especially with

First. shot transitions, I want to discuss the issue of connecting visual centers on the screen from different shots first.

Second. I want to keep expressing a sense of danger surrounding the goldfish in my short film. I’m very aware that I haven’t hold this point yet, but I don’t know where to improve. Also, I don’t want to rely on giving the goldfish facial expressions. Instead, I hope to change some camera angles and use visual language—for example, high-angle shots or compositions with a sense of pressure. But most importantly, do you think my insistence on keeping this sense of danger is something I could let go of for now?
